P11: What sparked your interest in a career in the homebuilding industry? And would you recommend it to others in your peer group?

LP: To be honest, I never even thought about the existence of the homebuilding industry before entering it. Before homebuilding, I worked in commercial real estate, and I was looking to advance my career in marketing. I came to work with P11 for about 2 years, and it was Jasvina Gill who introduced me to the homebuilding industry! Based on my positive experience and observations, I encourage my peers who are outside of homebuilding to join our industry because of the genuine support people show for each other and the lifelong connections we create. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

P11: You work for who many would say is a Legend in the homebuilding industry, Art Danielian. What things have he and the other architects at Danielian Associates taught you about sustaining an award-winning business for 56 years?

LP: It’s an honor to work at the company that Art Danielian started, and he most definitely lives up to that “Legend” title. The key to maintaining our award-winning business over the years is our team, and our commitment to staying ahead of market trends. Art really pioneered the concept of “market-driven design.” With those principles, we design neighborhoods and communities where people truly want to live, making it easier for our clients to sell or rent their properties.

P11: What gets you most excited or motivated about your job?

LP: I enjoy so many things about working for Danielian Associates, so it’s hard to say! If I had to narrow it down to one thing, it would have to be working with my colleagues. I am always impressed by how much they know about architectural design, details, and land planning. I can really feel the passion they have for it with all their innovative solutions. It never ceases to amaze me how creative they can be.

P11: Tell us more about the members of BIA OC NEXTGEN. It seems like a very cool and energized group. How can people get involved?

LP: BIAOC NextGen has been a huge part of my career. I’ve met so many amazing industry friends through it and continue to work to get more young leaders involved. It’s easy to join! If your company is a BIA member and you’re new to the homebuilding industry, all you need to do is regularly show up to the NextGen events, and you’re a member. To learn more, they can visit biaoc.com/nextgen.

P11: Collaboration is a big part of the industry. What are you learning from fellow professionals who have been in the industry for decades?

LP: I’ve learned that it’s all about who you know and never burn bridges. It’s important to maintain relationships with people as you never know where that may lead you. Also, our industry is ever-changing, and each year will always be different from the previous. It keeps us all on our toes.

6

P11: In your opinion, when we talk about technology, where does the building industry need to step it up?

LP: In comparison to other industries, the building industry is a bit behind the curve in terms of several technological aspects. But this makes for a unique opportunity in that we can learn from other market sectors on best practices. I know that in our architecture and planning studios, AI Is going to be a huge asset for us in the future. At DA, we are already using AR and VR, but I think the whole homebuilding industry will embrace this technology more as time goes on. Modular construction is another technology application that is only having its surface scratched.

7

P11: What does the word “home” mean to you?

LP: My home is my sanctuary! It’s where I go to decompress after a long day of work or a social outing. As much as I enjoy socializing, home is where I can reflect and refuel.

8

P11: Is it true that you personally know singer Kenny Loggins? How is he IRL?

LP: This question cracks me up! I have met him, but my mom is closer friends with him than I am. From the couple of times that I have met him, I’ve found that he is very down to earth and is a family man. Meeting him reminded me that most celebrities are just like us – people who are simply living their lives.

9

P11: What do you see for the future of the home building/multifamily industry? Think big. Nothing is off the table.

LP: I envision a future where homeownership becomes more affordable and accessible for my generation and future ones. I hope we can discover sustainable and cost-effective building methods that improve the overall process.

10

P11: What do you love and appreciate about P11?

LP: I appreciate that P11 Is the company that got me into the homebuilding Industry. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Lance, Jas, and their whole team are an amazing group of people.

11

P11: What’s playing on your turntable these days?

LP: It just depends on my mood and what I am doing. I’ve been waking up early to go to the gym in the AM I need energetic music that will get me motivated. On the car ride over, you will catch me singing “We Can’t Be Friends” by Ariana Grande and “Stargazing” by Myles Smith. At the gym, I have been listening to “Thank You (Not So Bad)” by Tiesto and “Everybody” by Nicki Minaj.
