BRAND IDEATION BEGINS AT HOME: The creation of P11’s anniversary identity

These same skills were applied to create the P11 35th Anniversary brand, which we proudly displayed throughout the year. Our 35-year tenure in the real estate industry is a testament to the trust that national builders and developers have in us. Our results-driven and award-winning work, combined with a forward vision, has enabled us to maintain our staying power in the industry.

COLOR PSYCHOLOGY
Our team conducted a comprehensive color study, taking inspiration from the popular Pantone’s Color of the Year phenomenon, to create a unique anniversary color that aligns perfectly with our brand palette. We proudly introduced “ROCK LEGEND RED” as our anniversary color choice. It is a vibrant color that perfectly complements our brand palette. As per the London Image Institute, the color red attracts the most attention and signifies strength, power, passion, excitement, and energy. According to USC, “people make decisions within 90 seconds of their first impression of a product, and color alone contributes up to 90 percent of the information that forms the decision.” We added a touch of orange to the red to create a feeling of optimism, rejuvenation, joy, and courage. The combination of these colors embodies our brand values and the spirit of the P11 team.
CURATED VERBIAGE
To align with the P11 music culture, we used the term “P11 35” as our anniversary brand story. This name is similar to the numeric ones below in their simplicity and impact.

• Prince’s 1999
• Van Halen’s 1984
• RUSH’s 2112
• Foreigner’s 4
• YES’ 90125 (which is an amazing album and coincidentally their 11th album, BTW)
FONT DISTINCTION
After much consideration, we decided to go with a broader and more celebratory font that would really make our anniversary edition stand out. Mighty Slab, designed by Adobe Font Designer & Director of Dharma Type Ryoichi Tsunekawa, features alluring curves with a hint of the old West, creating a sense of intrigue, excitement, and attention. But we didn’t choose this font just because it looks good. We also wanted to make sure it was on trend and relevant to today’s design landscape. And we’re happy to say it is. So, it not only looks great, but it’s also a smart choice from a marketing perspective for an anniversary brand solution that’s only being used for a year. Anniversary marks are a unique chance to follow a new path to be even more expressive. As you can see, the combination of our established P11 branding in the Gotham font is a great “opposites attract” font pairing with Mighty Slab.
