Warmington Apartment Communities tasked P11 with rebranding two recently acquired existing student housing communities that serve California Polytechnic University San Luis Obispo. After assessing the boutique-inspired neighborhoods and considering the college student demographic’s vibe, some amazing solutions were explored. A wide array of imaginative ideas, including fun illustrated logos and unique typefaces, made it very challenging for the client to select the final solution! The overarching concept was to brand them as the perfect pair yet honor their unique and separate names. Therefore, P11 created a synergistic aesthetic that was fresh, young, and hip. Each community’s branding was versioned with its own unique color palette while maintaining a unified approach to the font story and the actual design components that have an easy flow. They work equally together and separately. The terrain represents the local Cerro San Luis and Bishop Peaks and the rising sun/rainbow promotes the opportunities each day can bring for college students. The color palette has an earthy and authentic approachability that will appeal to residents seeking more meaningful housing that’s stylish and elevated.
